1. What Is the Eleos Health Mobile App?
Eleos Health Mobile is Eleos' native iOS and Android app —. The app brings the full Eleos documentation workflow to a native environment and, most importantly, unlocks Live Session Capture on mobile..
Providers can capture in-person sessions directly from their phone — delivering the same AI-powered documentation quality as desktop, right where care happens: in the community, at home, in schools, and in inpatient settings.
The app also supports both Text Summary and Voice Summary, with Text Summary available in offline environments, and lets providers set note preferences that sync across all their devices. The phone is the capture device; providers switch to the Eleos Sidebar on desktop to review AI-generated Suggestions and submit the final note to their EHR.
2. How to Download & Set Up the App
Getting started takes a few minutes. No new account or additional setup is required — providers use their existing Eleos credentials.
Step 1 — Download Eleos Health Mobile
Search for "Eleos Health" in the iOS App Store or Google Play Store and install the app. This is a native app download — do not access Eleos via a mobile browser going forward.
| 💡 Important: If you previously had the Eleos web app saved to your phone's home screen (PWA), delete it. The old web experience is replaced by this native app and will not function correctly going forward. |
Step 2 — Log In with Your Existing Credentials
Open the app and log in with your existing Eleos username and password. If your organization uses SSO (Microsoft or Google), log in with your work email — the same as on desktop. No new account setup is needed. For non-SSO users there will be an option to enable biometric login, making future logins quicker.
| 💡 Note: You will need to re-enter your password each time you log in on mobile. Improvements to the login experience are planned for a future release. |
Step 3 — Allow Permissions to enable all voice features
When you first sign in, a permissions window appears allowing you to enable microphone access via the system prompt. If dismissed, the app will re-prompt you when you first initiate a Live Session or Voice Summary. To verify your settings or enable access manually, refer to the OS-specific paths outlined below.
iPhone (iOS):
- Settings > Eleos Health Mobile > toggle Microphone on.
- Settings > Eleos Health Mobile > Background App Refresh > on.
- If you dismissed the microphone prompt earlier, this Settings toggle is the only way back in — there's no in-app re-prompt.
Android:
- Settings > Apps > Eleos Health Mobile > Permissions > Microphone > Allow.
- Same screen > check that Battery/Background usage isn't restricted (e.g., "Unrestricted" or "Allow background activity"), since manufacturers like Samsung aggressively kill background mic access otherwise.
- If notifications are used for session status, also enable Notifications there. (not a requirement)
Step 4 — Set Your Note Preferences (Recommended)
Before your first session, set your Note Preferences in the app. Select your provider title, client title, and pronouns. These preferences sync automatically across all your devices so you only need to configure them once — and they reduce manual edits every time you document.
3. How to Capture a Live Session on Mobile — Step by Step
Live Session Capture on mobile works the same way as on desktop. The phone replaces the laptop as the capture device; after the session, switch to the Eleos Sidebar on desktop to review Suggestions and submit your note.
Step 1 — Open the App and Start a New Session
Open Eleos Health Mobile and tap to start a new session. Select your client, activity type, population, and note type — the same fields as on desktop.
Step 2 — Select 'Live Session'
Choose Live Session as your documentation method to begin audio capture. Grant microphone access if prompted.
Step 3 — Conduct Your Session
Position your mobile device to ensure clear audio pick-up before starting. Capture persists through screen locks and background usage, with the session timer continuing uninterrupted. If a phone call is answered, the session itself keeps running throughout — Eleos automatically pauses microphone access to accommodate the call and resumes capture once the line is free; note that any dialogue occurring during the call is not recorded.
| 💡 Best practice: Keep the app in the foreground during the session when possible. Sessions are designed to keep running in the background, but exact behavior can vary by phone model, OS, and other apps competing for the microphone, so foreground remains the most reliable choice when you have it. |
Step 4 — End the Session
Tap to end the capture when the session is complete. The app confirms the session is saved. Session length limits: 90 minutes for individual sessions, 120 minutes for assessments.
Step 5 — Review Suggestions on Desktop
After ending the session on your phone, open the Eleos Sidebar in your EHR on desktop. Review the AI-generated Suggestions for each note field. Use Copy to paste content into your EHR, or click +Add to insert directly into an active field. Always review and edit before submitting — Suggestions are a starting point, not a finished note.
Step 6 — Click 'Mark as Submitted'
Once you've finished adding content to your EHR note and signed it, click Mark as Submitted in Eleos. This closes the session in your My Activities list.
4. Using Text Summary on Mobile (Including Offline)
The mobile app supports Text Summary — Eleos' bullet-point-to-narrative documentation workflow — including in environments with no internet or cellular service.
Offline Text Summary is designed for rural, school-based, correctional, and low-connectivity environments. Providers enter bullet points immediately after a session without connectivity; once the device reconnects, documentation syncs automatically and AI-generated Suggestions are generated.
- Open the app and start a new session.
- Select Text Summary as your documentation method.
- Choose client and note type
- Type your session bullet points. Abbreviations and fragments are fine.
- Your inputs are saved locally on your device, encrypted, until connectivity is restored.
- Once back online, your documentation syncs automatically and Suggestions are generated.
| 💡 To use offline mode, you must have logged into the app within the last 10 hours. Log in before heading into a low-connectivity environment. |
5. Key Concepts & Terminology
| Term | Definition |
| Native App | A iOS or Android app downloaded from the App Store or Google Play — distinct from the previous browser-based mobile web experience. The native app has stronger reliability, background session persistence, and supports Live Session Capture. |
| PWA (Progressive Web App) | The old Eleos mobile experience, accessed via a browser. Replaced by the native app — delete it from your phone's home screen. |
| Live Session Capture | The workflow where the provider's phone captures session audio. Eleos analyzes the audio and generates AI-powered documentation Suggestions. The phone is the capture device; Suggestions are reviewed and submitted on desktop. |
| Suggestions | AI-generated draft content for each note field. Providers review, edit, and approve all content before submitting — nothing is auto-submitted. |
| Text Summary | Eleos' AI-powered note generation feature where providers type bullet points describing the session, and Eleos generates a structured clinical narrative. Available on mobile, including offline. |
| Voice Summary | Eleos' AI-powered note generation feature where providers dictate a spoken summary of the session, and Eleos generates a structured clinical narrative. Available on mobile. |
| Note Preferences | Per-user settings (provider title, client title, pronouns) configured in the app and synced automatically across all devices. |
| Offline Mode | Available for Text Summary only. Providers enter bullet points without an internet connection; AI Suggestions are generated once connectivity is restored. |
| Mark as Submitted | Action taken in Eleos when documentation is complete. Moves the session to the completed list in My Activities. |
6. Tips & Best Practices
- Delete the old PWA first. Before using the native app, remove the old Eleos web shortcut from your phone's home screen. It will not function correctly now that the native app is available.
- Download from the correct app store. iOS App Store or Google Play. This is a native app — do not use a mobile browser.
- Set your Note Preferences early. Configure provider title, client title, and pronouns before your first session. They sync across all devices and reduce manual edits every time.
- Keep the app open during sessions. While the native app handles interruptions well, keeping it in the foreground is the most reliable approach, especially for longer sessions.
- Log in before going offline. To use offline Text Summary, you must have logged in within the last 10 hours. Log in at the start of your shift before heading into a low-connectivity environment.
- Document immediately after the session. Entering bullet points while the session is fresh produces more accurate Suggestions — especially important for Text Summary.
- Review every field on desktop before submitting. Suggestions are a draft. Switch to the Eleos Sidebar on desktop to review, edit, and submit your completed note to your EHR.
7. Known Limitations & Current Workarounds
7.1 Current Limitations
- Note review and submission remain on desktop. After capturing on mobile, providers switch to the Eleos Sidebar on desktop to review Suggestions and submit to their EHR. Mobile submission is not yet available.
- Offline mode is Text Summary only. Live Session Capture and Voice Summary require an active internet connection.
- AI Suggestions are not available while offline. Suggestions generate only once connectivity is restored and the session syncs.
- SSO requires re-entry of credentials each time. Providers will need to log in with their work email each time they open the app on mobile. Improvements are planned.
- Clients Tab is desktop only. The full client caseload view is not yet available on mobile.
7.2 Workarounds
- For group sessions: Use the Eleos Sidebar on desktop for group session capture
- After capturing on mobile (including offline via bullet points), open the Eleos Sidebar in your EHR on desktop to review Suggestions and submit your note — reconnect to WiFi or cellular as soon as possible so offline Suggestions generate while the session is still fresh.
8. Frequently Asked Questions
App Setup & Access
- Q: Is this the same mobile web app we’ve always had?
A: No. The previous mobile experience was a web page accessed through a browser. Eleos Health Mobile is a native iOS and Android app with stronger reliability, better performance, and full support for Live Session Capture. It includes all the capabilities the previous web version offered, and more.
- Q: Where can I download the Eleos Mobile App?
A: You can download the "Eleos Health Mobile" app directly from the Apple App Store (for iOS 15.0 or later) or Google Play Store (for Android 10 or later). If your organization uses managed devices (MDM), your IT department may push the app directly to your device.
- Q: What should I do with my old mobile web shortcut?
A: If you previously saved Eleos as a home-screen shortcut from your mobile browser, please delete it from your home screen before installing the native app to avoid confusion.
- Q: Do providers need a new login for the mobile app?
A: No. Log in using your existing Eleos credentials. If your organization uses Single Sign-On (SSO), log in with your work email—the exact same way you log in on your desktop.
- Q: Can I use both the mobile app and the desktop Sidebar?
A: Yes! The same login works on both platforms. You can capture sessions on your mobile device while out in the field and log into the desktop Sidebar later to review AI suggestions and submit notes to your EHR.
Live Session Capture & Workflows
- Q: What is the difference between mobile Live Session and desktop Live Session?
A: The core experience is the same—audio is captured and analyzed in real time to produce structured AI-generated documentation. The native mobile app adds resilience built specifically for real-world mobile environments, keeping your session running through screen locks, backgrounded apps, network switches, and incoming phone calls.
- Q: What clinical session types are supported for Live Session Capture on mobile?
A: Mobile Live Session Capture currently supports Individual Therapy, Case Management, Psychiatry Follow-Up, and Psychiatry Intake.
- Q: What happens if I get a phone call mid-session?
A: Eleos does not intercept or record phone calls. When an incoming call is answered, your active session pauses automatically and resumes right where it left off as soon as the call ends and you return to the app.
- Q: Can I lock my screen or minimize the app during a live session?
A: Yes. Capturing continues seamlessly in the background while your screen is locked or while using other apps. Best Practice: Whenever possible, keep the app open on your screen during sessions for maximum capture reliability.
- Q: Can I capture a desktop session and a mobile session at the same time?
A: No. Only one active capture session is supported at a time per user account.
- Q: Can I review note suggestions or paste content into my EHR from the mobile app?
A: You can review note suggestions right in the mobile app. However, submitting the final note into your EHR must be done via the Eleos Sidebar on desktop.
- Q: Is there a time limit on sessions?
A: Yes. Individual sessions are capped at 90 minutes, and assessments are capped at 120 minutes.
Connectivity & Offline Support
- Q: Does the app work on cellular data or Wi-Fi?
A: Both. The app uses whatever internet connection is available. If you move between Wi-Fi and mobile data during a session, the capture transitions automatically without interruption.
- Q: Does the mobile app work offline without internet?
A: Text Summary notes can be authored fully offline. Any pending text notes are queued securely on your phone and automatically synced to your desktop account as soon as connectivity is restored.
Note: Live Session Capture and Voice Summary require an active internet connection to process session audio and generate AI suggestions.
- Q: Where is offline text stored?
A: Text entered in offline mode is temporarily stored on your mobile device in an encrypted format. It is automatically removed from the device cache once it successfully syncs to the Eleos platform.
- Q: Does offline documentation change what Eleos stores long-term?
A: No. Once synced, offline Text Summaries follow the exact same data retention and privacy policies as any other note created in Eleos.
- Q: Why aren't AI Suggestions generated while offline?
A: Processing audio and generating smart clinical suggestions requires secure, cloud-based computation that relies on an active internet connection. Suggestions are generated as soon as connectivity is restored.
Preferences & Customization
- Q: Do Note Preferences sync across all my devices?
A: Yes. Preferences (such as provider titles, client titles, and pronouns) are stored at the user level and automatically sync across desktop and mobile devices once saved.
- Q: Can different providers within the same team have different preferences?
A: Yes. Preferences are managed per-user, so each clinician maintains their own settings independently.
Privacy & Security
- Q: Is the Eleos Mobile App HIPAA compliant?
