While our non-audio feature will learn your note-taking style over time, there are a few things to remember to generate great notes every time.
To learn more about our non-audio feature, please take a look at the following article:💡Non-audio Progress Notes
Selecting the correct "Session type" and "Population"
Before you get started, please select the correct "Session Type" and "Population" for the session you want to create a note for. This selection will ensure that Eleos generates the optimal output for the service provided.
Entering your bullet points and "Smart Suggestions"
To create your note, you will have to enter bullet points as the basis for the note generation. Your bullet points do not have to be perfect and can just be quickly jotted down. No need to worry about correct grammar or spelling. Depending on your configuration, you must enter a minimum of four to six bullet points to generate a non-audio note. We recommend a maximum number of eight bullet points for optimal output.

Additionally, you can also use our "Smart Suggestions" feature to quickly add common suggestions including Interventions, Mental Status exams, plans, etc.
Setting the scene
We find that setting the scene and answering some of the following questions in your bullet points can help to optimize the Non-Audio output:
Who?
A quick description of who was present can be very helpful, here are some examples:
"Met with client and client's mother (Mary) to discuss her son's treatment plan."
If multiple people were present adding their role can be crucial."Client not present" or "CNP" will work great if the client was not present.
Where?
Where did the session take place? The location and setting can be crucial, e.g.:
"Spoke via phone"
"Met in the office"
"Met at client's home"
"Conducted session via telehealth"
What?
What did you do during your session? Include the interventions you provided during the session, and make sure to use action words in your bullet point.
E.g. "collaborated with client's PCP about...."
Why?
Why was this service necessary to support the client?
Briefly lay out the reasoning behind your approach.
E.g."Client struggles with self-advocacy due to social anxiety."
When?
This may be part of the service, but you can include a bullet about when the next appointment is.
E.g.: "Plan to meet with client next Wed at 2pm to follow up on satisfaction with new OT"
How?
How did the client present? What symptoms did they demonstrate?
For example:
"Client was engaged and alert"
"client reported satisfaction with their new Dentist"
"Client reported feeling anxious"
Using acronyms
While Eleos is programmed to recognize many acronyms (i.e. ct, dx, tx), it can also learn those it may not be familiar with. If you notice that an acronym used is not being correctly transcribed, providing context a few times can help.
Here is an example: "Met with DCFS (Department of Children and Family Services) caseworker."
Adding more bullet points
If you think of more after you have already generated your note you can add the extra bullets, but please make sure to clear the text fields out, before you hit "generate note" again.
Enhancing your notes
If you don't like the initial output or if you have manually added some content and make sure that your note is cohesive. Our Enhance feature allows you to re-write your note with one click.
Note preferences
To quickly change names, pronouns, and how you or your client are referred to, please click on the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Eleos overlay to open your Note preferences.
Please note that preferences you set for yourself under the "Refer to me as" section, will be retained for all your notes, while preferences set for your client will be saved for all notes with this specific client going forward.
